BALSA RIVER Class 2-3
Experience the excitement and adrenalin of white water rafting on this half day adventure on the Balsa San Carlos River with rapids graded II-III. After meeting with your river guide at your hotel we will drive 30 minutes to the river where the fun begins! You guides explain the safety procedures and safety equipment before embarking down the river. Enjoy up to 2 exhilarating hours of white water action on this beautiful tropical river.
Once at the San Carlos Bridge we end the journey, enjoying a swim, some fresh tropical fruits and a cold Costa Rican style “Michelada” This River is a great option for families and beginners.
Includes: Transportation to and from most La Fortuna hotels, bilingual certified guides, fruit and snacks on the river, Ice cold drinks, and towels.
What to bring: easy dry clothes ( shorts and t-shirt are best), bathing suit, secure shoes (Sports Sandals and water shoes are best), sunscreen.
TORO RIVER Class 3/4
Set deep in the Costa Rican rain forests and fed by waters from the Poas volcano, the Toro river winds 13Km (about 9 miles) through the canyon filled with dramatic scenery and heart pumping excitement. The Toro River offers some of Costa Rica’s best white water with big waves, technical rapids and continuous whitewater.
The journey begins with a 1 hr scenic drive through the Eastern portion of central Costa Rica through the beautiful pineapple, papaya and yucca fields with Volcano Arenal set in the backdrop. Once we reach the destination, the trained/skilled guides will review the rules and safety guidelines for the river to familiarize yourself with your job as paddlers.
Then we will take the PLUNGE and head down river. We will enjoy the spectacular scenery and a thrilling ride. Halfway through the journey we will “re-fuel” on the river bank and enjoy some delicious tropical fruit while soaking in the tropical surroundings. At the end of our journey, a cold drink and dry towel will await you before a short ride where you can change into dry clothes and have a delicious Typical Costa Rican lunch.

Sarapiqui (Rafting Class II y III)
Set in the lowlands of the rainforest, with breathtaking views of tropical birds and lush jungle landscapes this river is perfect for all levels of paddlers, from experts to first timers and families. The crystal clear waters and action packed class II & III rapids will ensure an unforgettable experience for every rafting enthusiast. Sarapiqui allows you to not only enjoy the many of splash rapids but also revisit that childhood freedom to play. Relax in the flat crystal pools between the rapids swimming and splashing around.
This trip begins in La Fortuna where our expert guide will pick you up in private transportation from your hotel and you will travel for 1 ½ hours to arrive to the River. At the river and after fitting all of your equipment, we will give you a safety orientation speech and paddle practice before the adventure begins.
Once on the river, participants will paddle for 2 ½ hours along the 14 Km stretch with a stop for fruit half way down the river to restore your energy for the latter half of the paddle. At the end of the river portion your private transportation will be waiting for you and will take you to Flow operation center in Sarapiqui. There you will be able to change in private facilities and get ready for a Costa Rican buffet style lunch.

Sarapiqui (Rafting Class III y IV)
Seeking adventure and an unforgettable experience? Jump on a raft with us for an adrenaline packed ride down a class IV river. Continuous rapids, landscaped by lush rainforest walls dripping with waterfalls just gives you a flavor of what will be in store for you. You will paddle over 30 rapids, many of them being rated class IV, big gradients lead to a big splash as you ride down the pristinely clean, sparkling waters of the Sarapiqui River. One of the most beautiful Rivers in Costa Rica!
