The Best of Costa Rica family vacation package features a fantastic combination of adventure and nature in three of Costa Rica's most visited regions -- Arenal Volcano, Monteverde Cloud Forest and Manuel Antonio National Park. This 10-day / 9-night Costa Rica vacation package features Costa Rica highlights such as lush rainforests, active volcanoes, hot springs, and the mystical cloud forest, providing you the opportunity to observe unique wildlife in its natural setting, spend time on the shores of the Pacific Ocean and enjoy white water rafting, canyoning and canopy (zip lining) adventures.

Day 1: Arrive at the San Jose International Airport. A contact person will pick you up in the customs area and take you to meet your driver, who will transfer you to your San Jose hotel. Check in and explore the dining and entertainment options in Costa Rica's capital.

Day 2: Check out of the hotel. Board the van for the 2½ drive to the Arenal Volcano region. This ride takes you up the mountains to the fertile region of San Ramon and on to the San Carlos flatlands, home to some of Costa Rica's top agricultural products, including oranges, papayas and cassava. Arrive in the Arenal Volcano region and check in to your hotel. Consider a visit to one of the renowned hot springs resorts in the evening (included in packages with stays at Tabacon Grand Spa).

Day 3: You will be picked up at the hotel for a full-day white water rafting expedition. Enjoy the 90-minute, scenic drive to the Sarapiqui River, where you will experience the adrenaline rush of the class III+ rapids. Relax during the calm stretches of this amazing river and take in the breathtaking surroundings. After your adventure, return to the hotel and overnight in Arenal. 

Day 4: The staff from the canyoning tour company will pick you up at the hotel for your canyoning adventure.  After a short drive, hike to the first platform and enter the canyon in the heart of the rainforest, where the views are spectacular. Enjoy the five rappels, including a 150 foot drop and three rappels in waterfalls. Return to your hotel, relax at the facilities or embark on another half day activity in the region. Overnight in Arenal.

Day 5: Check out of the hotel and board the van for your adventurous transfer to Monteverde.  After a short drive to Lake Arenal, enjoy a 15-minute boat ride across these tranquil waters, followed by a ride up the mountains to the cloud forest. Witness the changes in vegetation and climate as you ascend from 900 meters to 1600 meters above sea level. Check in to your hotel and start exploring this breathtaking region. 

Day 6: Choose between two thrilling adventures -- the Sky Trek Canopy or the hanging bridges of the Sky Walk. Sky Trek is a signature canopy adventure that consists of a series of platforms and lines that allow you to glide through the forest. Sky Walk consists of a guided hike over suspended bridges spanning the cloud forest. In the afternoon, enjoy free time or embark on another exciting activity in the Monteverde region. Overnight in Monteverde. 

Day 7: Check out of the hotel and board the van for your 4-hour private transfer to Manuel Antonio. This drive takes you through the mountains towards to the majestic shores of the Pacific Ocean. Check in to your room in Manuel Antonio.

Day 8: You will be picked up at the hotel for the short drive to the Manuel Antonio National Park a guided tour of one of the jewels of the Costa Rica National Park System. Spot three species of monkeys, sloths, iguanas, coatimundis, and a wide range of birds and reptiles then relax at one of the country's prettiest beaches. Overnight in Manuel Antonio. 

Day 9: Enjoy the hotel and explore the Manuel Antonio region. Optional activities include sportfishing, sea or estuary kayaking, dolphin and whale watching, sailing on a Catamaran, mangrove tour, horseback riding, and canopying. Overnight in Manuel Antonio.

Day 10: Check out of the hotel and board the van for your transfer to the local airport. Check in to the 25-minute flight to San Jose. Upon landing, you will be transferred to San Jose International Airport for your return flight.
