Our Costa Rica family vacation travel experts have designed this wonderful 11 day / 10 night itinerary combining rainforests, volcanoes, beaches, and wildlife. This package includes Costa Rica's most popular regions -- Manuel Antonio, Arenal and the Guanacaste Beaches -- with stays at well known hotels and resorts in Costa Rica. Room upgrades are available upon request, and we would be happy to customize any portion of the package and to add tours based on your specific interests.
Day 1: Arrive at San Jose International Airport. A contact person will pick you up in the customs area and take you to meet your driver. Board the van for the 2½ hour drive to Manuel Antonio. This beautiful ride takes you west of the Central Valley to the town of Atenas. Traverse the southern mountains towards Orotina, home of some of the country's top fruit producers. Continue towards the beaches of the Central Pacific, passing Herradura, Jaco, Hermosa, Esterillos, and Parrita, en route to Quepos, a fishing town near Manuel Antonio. Check into your Manuel Antonio Hotel.
Days 2 - 4: Relax at the beach and the pools or take advantage of the many activities available in the magnificent Manuel Antonio region and Hotel Arenas del Mar. Optional activities include fishing, kayaking, sailing, mangrove tour, horseback riding, white water rafting, and canopying. Overnight in your Manuel Antonio Hotel
Day 5: Check out of the hotel. Our driver will pick you up for a 15-minute drive to the Quepos Airstrip. Board the flight to Arenal. Upon arrival, board the van for a short transfer to the Arenal Hotel. Check in then spend the afternoon and evening enjoying the hot springs and gardens (Kioro and Corin options only).
Days 6 and 7: Explore the Arenal Volcano region and the Arenal Hotel, boasting hot mineral pools and spectacular views of the Arenal Volcano. Optional activities include visiting the Fortuna River Waterfalls, rafting on the Sarapiqui River, canyoning (waterfall rappels), Sky Trek canopy tour, kayaking, Arenal National Park tour, Venado Caves tour, and the Hanging Bridges tour. Overnight in your Arenal Volcano Area Hotel.
Day 8: Check out of the hotel. Your driver will pick you up for the 25-minute transfer to the Arenal Airstrip. Check in to the flight to Tamarindo. Upon arrival, board the van for the 30-minute transfer to your Tamarindo Beach Resort. Check in.
Days 9 and 10: Enjoy Tamarindo Beach and explore the Tamarindo/Conchal Region. Optional activities include surfing lessons, boat rides in the Palo Verde National Park, golf in Hacienda Pinilla or Reserva Conchal, deep sea fishing, horseback riding, turtle watching (in season). Overnight in your Tamarindo area hotel.
Day 11: Check out of the hotel and take the 1-hour transfer to the Liberia International Airport. Check in to your return flight. |
