Day 1: Arrive at San Jose International Airport. A contact person will pick you up in the customs area and take you to meet your driver. Board the van for the hour drive up the northern mountains of the Central Valley, with its spectacular views. This is one of the country's prime coffee plantation regions, also known for the strawberry and ornamental plant production. Check in to Central Valley mountain lodge and begin exploring one of the country's most picturesque spots.
Day 2: Enjoy the hotel and the Central Valley. Optional activities include La Paz Waterfall Gardens, Poas Volcano and the Doka Coffee Plantation. Overnight in Central Valley Mountain Lodge.
Day 3: Check out of the hotel, and board the van for the transfer to Monteverde. This beautiful drive starts at an altitude of 1,100 meters above sea level and climbs to the Monteverde Cloud Forest at an altitude of over 1,600 meters above sea level. Check in to your Monteverde hotel and take the rest of the day to explore.
Day 4: Enjoy the hotel and explore the Monteverde/Santa Elena Cloud Forest Region. Optional activities include Monteverde and Santa Elena Cloud Forest National Parks, Serpentarium, Monteverde Cheese Factory, Sky Walk/Sky Trek, canopy tour, Monteverde Coffee Tour, horseback riding, and ATV tours. Overnight in a Hotel in Monteverde.
Day 5: Check out of the hotel and board the van for your transfer to the South Nicoya Peninsula (Santa Teresa / Tambor) region. This drive takes you down the mountains, through dry tropical forest, past rustic towns and cattle ranches to the Nicoya Peninsula. Check in to your beach front room and begin enjoying the amenities.
Days 6 - 8: Explore the Nicoya Peninsula. Optional activities include a romantic sunset cruise, hiking, fishing, horseback riding, ATV tour, canopy tour, surfing, sportfishing. Overnight in Tambor / Santa Teresa beach hotel.
Day 9: Check out of the hotel and board the van for the short transfer to the local airstrip. Check in to the flight to San Jose. Upon landing, you will be transferred to San Jose International Airport for your return flight. |
