Our Costa Rica's Best Adventures package is designed for couples or families that want an action filled vacation. The package features hand picked activities like river rafting in the Pacuare River, canyoneering (rappelling), canopy tours and hikes in suspended bridges (zip lines), tours on hoserback, kayaks, ATVs and hikes in National Parks.
Day 1: Arrive at the San Jose International Airport. A contact person will pick you up in the customs area and take you to meet your driver. Board the van for the 20-minute transfer to San Jose and check in your San Jose Hotel.
Day 2: The staff from the Pacuare Hotel will pick you up at the hotel to start the 3 hour drive in a comfortable minibus and transported through the old capital city of Cartago and the lush green farmlands blanketing the slopes of the Irazu and Turrialba volcanoes. Before arriving at the banks of the Pacuare River, you will stop to enjoy an authentic Costa Rican breakfast.
When you arrive at the river, the expert guides will provide you with the rafting gear and explain safety precautions before the rafting adventure begins. Once in the water, you will experience sheer exhilaration as you face the challenge of each huge wave, battling surging waters down miles of raging rapids. The first day on the river is an exciting journey that takes just over an hour and a half. Overnight in your Pacuare Lodge.
Day 3: You will wake up to bird song and the soothing sound of the river nearby. Then head over to the main lodge for a delicious breakfast of home-made bread, tropical fruits, yogurt, eggs, pancakes, cereal and juice and coffee. High adventure today in Costa Rica’s top river for White Water Rafting, along with hikes, waterfalls and other rainforest activities. Overnight in your Pacuare Lodge.
Day 4: In the morning you will depart by raft for an even more fun-filled day of white water rafting excitement, including a delicious picnic lunch along the river. At the river take-out you will have a chance to change at the private facilities before being transferred by private minibus back to your hotel. At the Restaurant board the van and start the 3 ½ hour transfer to the Arenal Volcano Region. This drive will take you through the Sarapiqui rainforest region to San Carlos. This area is one of the country’s most productive regions, with forest and wood industries, cattle ranches and agriculture. It is the country’s top region for growing oranges, yucca and other root vegetables. Check in to your room in the Hotel in Arenal Volcano Region.
Day 5: After an early breakfast the guides and staff from Sky Adventures will pick you up to start the half day adventure in the rainforest. After a 20-minute drive to the park, board the sky tram for the 10-minute aerial ride through the rainforest. Embark on one of Costa Rica’s top canopy adventures as you glide down 10 zip lines for a total of over 2 miles of cable. Sky Walk + Plus is an excellent combination between walking in the rainforest of the Arenal area and the extreme adventure of suspended bridges. Overnight in your Arenal Hotel.
Day 6: After an early breakfast, you will be picked up at the main lobby by the staff from the canyoning tour. Board the van for the 20 minute drive to the meeting point en route to the Canyoning spot. You will then transfer to a truck for another 15 minutes to the Canyoning site. Hike to the first platform and enter the canyon in the heart of the rainforest. The views are spectacular. Enjoy the 5 rappels, including a 150 ft drop. Three rappels are in waterfalls, two are on dry walls. Lunch will be served after the adventure at the Operations Centre. After completing this thrilling adventure return to the resort. Overnight in your Arenal Hotel.
Day 7: Check out and meet the van for the 4 and ½ hour transfer to your hotel in Manuel Antonio. Take the rest of the afternoon to explore the beach or relax at your Manuel Antonio resort.
Day 8: The staff the tour company will pick you up at the lobby of the hotel; explore the wonderful world of mangroves just 20 minutes away from Manuel Antonio area. Discover a variety of amazing wildlife. In the afternoon experience the most unforgettable ATV adventure in Manuel Antonio! With your professional, bilingual guides, drive through unpaved mountain trails, giant palm plantations and rustic Costa Rican towns, all nestled in the primary tropical rain forest. Day 9: The staff the tour company will pick you up at the lobby of the hotel for a visit to the renowned Manuel Antonio National Park. Enjoy this guided tour through one of the jewels of the Costa Rica National Park System. Spot three species of monkeys, sloth’s, iguanas and a wide range of birds and reptiles. In the afternoon start the horseback riding tour in the rainforest. Discover the secrets of the Rainforest; learn about exotic and medicinal plants. Day 10: heck out of the hotel and board the van for the 2 ½ hour private transfer to San Jose. The drive will take you along the Central Pacific shores. Arrive west of the Central Valley in route to the San Jose International Airport for your return flight home. |
