Laguna Lodge is a rain forest eco lodge situated on 15 acres of trees and exotic plants in Costa Rica's northern Caribbean, an exclusive location on a narrow strip of land between the Caribbean Sea and Tortuguero Canals. The Caribbean shores of Costa Rica offer a unique flavor that sets it apart from the rest of the country. On the northeast coast of this spectacular region is the unforgettable Tortuguero National Park, where you can explore the remarkable canals and jungle that are home to a vast array of fascinating wildlife, including monkeys, sloths, parrots, manatees, fish, caimans, and alligators. The region is also one of the principal nesting grounds for the green sea turtle. The beaches in Tortuguero are not swimmable.

Laguna Lodge features a Gaudi-style building with a small conference room, reception area and souvenir shop. Facilities and services at the Lodge include swimming pool with hydro-massage waterfall and small islet, two bars, one located over the lagoon and another next to the swimming pool area, huts with hammocks, open butterfly garden, private trails, botanical garden, and beach access.

The open-air restaurant is located in front of the Tortuguero lagoon, providing beautiful views of the nearby forests and the passing boats. Meals are served buffet and family style with a variety of fresh tropical fruits and vegetables. Coffee, tea, and cookies are available 24 hours a day at the restaurant. The Lodge has 80 standard rooms with views of the surrounding gardens and forest. Rooms offer private bathrooms, hot water, ceiling fans, reading lamps, and wooden benches outside. Accommodations are rustic and basic but comfortable and clean. Rooms do not have TV or A/C.

One night / two day stays are ideal for families or couples on a Costa Rica vacation or honeymoon that wish to get a quick taste of this Caribbean jungle experience. A two-night / three-day stay will allow you to explore the canals, hike the trails and visit the colorful town of Tortuguero. Tour packages include transportation in covered boats to and from the boarding port and open boats for touring the canals, meals, and naturalist guides as well as visits to the Tortuguero National Park canals, the village of Tortuguero, and the Turtle Museum of the Caribbean Conservation Corporation. Additional activities include fishing trips for tarpon and snook, among other species. Kayaking is also available.
