The tour begins with a 30-minute 4x4 ride into the rainforest surrounding La Fortuna. Stay on the lookout for monkeys, sloths, parrots and other creatures as you make your way toward the waterfalls. Once here, your guides will fit you with canyoneering equipment and explain the proper way to descend the falls. When you’re comfortable with the procedure, you’ll begin rappelling down the first waterfall from the top into the beautiful and pristine canyon below. From here on out, there are three more waterfalls to rappel down and one rock face. Once finished, your guides will help you back to the vehicles and you’ll head to the base camp.
This tour can be enjoyed by anyone in moderate physical condition. It is child friendly and no experience is needed. All guides are trained in Wilderness First Aid and CPR, and there are daily safety checks on all the equipment. There are two tours each day.
